The captains...
Minding the front...
Elmo establishing the break...
Patrick on the break....

So after an aggressive 50 mile training ride on Saturday, Patrick and I decided that it was time to venture down to Wells Ave to test the legs before Sterling next weekend and work toward Patrick's upgrade. After a little warm-up, to get the acid out from Saturday, the race was off. Surprisingly the field was full (40-50ish) and the first lap was fairly mellow, but there was some very irradic riding going on, so Patrick and I headed toward the front of the race and that's where we'd do our best to stay. We worked in tandem and grouped up with a guy from Back Bay and 2 guys from Bike Barn and did our best to manage the front of the race, keeping breaks in check and staying out of trouble. The Bike Barn guys clearly had their lead-outs mastered and took almost all the primes, but the moment the race regrouped, Salem Cycle was back at the front, each trying to establish a solid breakaway, but after the ride yesterday, there was pretty of top end, but not much explosive power! It was a good solid effort with Patrick taking 10th and I took 13th... Not a bad day for Salem Cycle!!!
And for those of you who are curious about the speed... Here is my info...

Rubber side down!
Train smart. Race hard. Have FUN!
