Comprehensive Racing Report
You really know that you are traveling to a race when the radio dial drops 4 times and the last sign you see is "You are now leaving American Soil".....If you turn right after the sign, you're in Ludlow~!!!
And in the land of the Cyclonaughts.....a whole bunch of them.
The race conditions were almost perfect. The water was threatening to be on the cooler side, but no worries, the wind was completely still (Don was willing the God's to kick up a serious gust) and the run was just the right amount of breeze, Sunshine and shade.
The Black and Orange were heavily out numbered by The Black and Yellow. A beehive of swirling Cyclonaughts were certainly out to protect home court and to flex a bit of muscle. The B and O brought out the Varsity Team, The Trump Card, and great support.
Team Comp was well represented by Cristen J, Nancy T(rumpCard) , Elaine V, Chaz F, Jodi F, Peter W, and the Team of Traci G, Don V, and Kosmo Dave. The racers got great support from Paul "The Clyde" P who did 18 miles of loops getting in his Ironman Training. He would have kept going but they water stations started to turn their backs when they saw him coming for the 4th time~!!!
Nancy T brought out her boxing gloves and flexed her standard muscle taking 2nd in age group and Elaine coming off an Overall win last week was a very respectable top 5. The Senior Group, The Salt and Pepper Trio (More Salt than pepper) TEAM G~V~B, Traci, Don and Dave took on no less than 6 Cyclonaught Teams and crossed the line with a full 2 minutes to give to the 2nd place team.
Quotes from the Day
"Yeah, this is really fun" Traci G on beating the "youthful" other teams
"Paul, you zip up, Nancy, you Zip Down" Kosmo prior to a foto opp as we took a recovery loop
"Can you guys be in your own group so someone else can win?" 2 Female Cyclonaught Team racers right after Don left on his 2 Wheeled Rocket
A great race day for all that attended
