The Inmates escaped and one got treasure!

COMP NEWS BREAK – ALCATRAZ FINISH, A QUESTION, A RING, AN “I DO”, AND LOTS OF SMILES

As Joe Geringer, Jay Curry, Tim Clarke, Heather MacKesy and Dave Boyle braved the chilly waters of San Fransico Bay, road the crazy hills, and dug deep to finish a grueling run up 100s of sand steps that make up the famous Escape from Alcatraz Tri, some behind the scenes work went into motion. Medals would not be the only hardware to be worn after the finish (at least not by one). As a ring was passed to Andrea (Jay’s gal), to Sonya (Joe’s Gal), as both worked a little magic with the race officials and announcer.

Joe and Jay crossed the finish line, with Tim crossing close on their heels, all under 3 hours, a fine day. All were lead to the Press area as Andrea and Sonya’s sweet talking enabled some preferential treatment for the main event to come. Joined by Alice (Tim’s gal), all were escorted to the finish line VIP Press Box waiting for the finish line crossing of Ironmom and Kid Kosmo. The race Announcer kept the crowds in suspense as he announced that something special was going to happen at the finish of this year’s race. The Comp Team in the Press box waited and kept having false alarms whenever they saw a flash of orange entering the finishing shoot. Finally, there they were, running side by side and stride for stride, to the end of a memorable triathlon and to the start of a brand new beginning.

Dave “Kid Kosmo” Boyle crossed the finish line and came over to the Comp crew waiting, Sonya handed him the ring, and the Race Announcer took Kosmo Dave and Heather “Ironmom” MacKesy over to the side. With the Announcer at hand and the race cameras rolling, Dave bent down to one knee, and proposed to a surprised Heather. With an “I Do”, the finish line crowds cheered, both Dave and Heather were composed, with love in their eyes. Neither were out of breath or even looked like they finished a grueling triathlon challenge called Alcatraz. They were in their own world.

Congratulations Kosmo Dave and Ironmom Heather, you are a couple made to order, a complement to each other, with a long beautiful future a head of you.
